I have lived in the Willamette Valley for 26+ years and most definitely consider this lovely area my home. Who can resist the lush surroundings, proximity to beautiful Portland, the Oregon coast, the majestic mountains and the year-round playground of Central Oregon?
I grew up in a military home (Air Force), which of course meant that I was constantly on the move. I moved to Northern California in my early 20s to be near my sister, and began work in San Francisco as a litigation paralegal at a prestigious Financial District law firm (I had the misfortune of being on the 25th floor during the 6.9 Loma Prieta earthquake). I met my husband Carl while living in the Bay Area. Five years later we relocated to the Willamette Valley to be near my wonderful mother-in-law who owns and operates Airlie Farm Quarter Horses and Bed & Breakfast just outside of Monmouth, Oregon. It was important for me to finally and firmly plant roots since I moved often as a military dependent.
We purchased a cute 1926 bungalow-style home near Bush Park in Salem, and it was shortly after we settled in that our first child was born. I continued my paralegal profession until we had our second child. We were blessed that I was able to stay home with our children while my husband continued his work as a general contractor, building and remodeling homes. We also had real estate investments and a pool of rental homes. When our youngest began first grade, we were nearing completion of a spec home in West Salem. Rather than returning to the paralegal world, I made the transition to the real estate industry to market our new construction home, and ever since have helped many clients buy and sell homes.
As a listing agent, I will not simply plunk a sign in your yard, print unprofessional black and white flyers, and then disappear. I have a written, comprehensive marketing plan and will communicate on a regular basis.
